Black - Live Edge River Board (Pre-order)

CA$250.00

This beautiful charcuterie board is handcrafted from ethically and sustainably sourced Black Walnut hardwood and creatively combined with a black onyx colored resin.

Approximate size is 23.5” x 10.5” (widths vary between 9” - 12.5” due to the natural edge variation)

During the sanding process, we take the time and care to ‘raise the grain’ inbetween changing to the next sand paper. Raising the grain is a process which you start by blowing out the fibers and grains with compressed air and then lightly misting the surface with water and simply letting it dry. As it drys the grain fibers (which get flattened by the sander), raise back up to the surface and feel rough and fuzzy. Then when we sand it with the next pad of sanding grit we are connecting with each fiber in the wood not just the top. This technique ensures a professional finish that will last a lifetime and certainly will not get that rough feeling after your first use (you have probably felt on wood cutting boards bought from a big box stores). An important technique we use on all our boards. After sanding up to 1000 grit and polishing the epoxy, all surfaces are then coated with 3 coats of %100 natural FDA approved food-safe finish.
